Juanita Dann
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Juanita Dann, 85, of Marion was called to meet her Savior at 8:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with pastors Jeff Owens and Roger Marvel officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville.

Mrs. Dann was born on July 28, 1923, in Harrisburg to Earnest and Eula (Banks) Hooten. On Aug. 10, 1946, she married the love of her life, Woodrow Dann; together they shared 48 years until his death on April 16, 1994.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Terry Rushing of Marion; grandchildren, Jeff and Angie Rushing, Juli and Todd Watkins, Michael and Cassie Dann and Stephen Dann; great-grandsons, Parker Dann, Braxton Dann, Drake and great-granddaughter, Abigail Rushing; sisters, Carolyn and John Alvey of Harrisburg, Thelma Lane, Lavern and U.D. Hardesty of Charleston and Jeannie Wade of Lake Station, Indiana; brother, Lowell and Betty Hooten of Crawfordsville, Ind.; and special friend, Vera Woolard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woodrow Dann; son, Richard Lynnwood Dann; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Hooten; three infant brothers; and one infant sister.
Mrs. Dann was a member of the New Horizon Baptist Church in Marion, Marion Red Hatters, and she was very proud of her husband's involvement in the Shriner's Motor Patrol. She and her husband owned and operated East Lawn Memorial Gardens for 35 years.
The family would like to thank the caregivers Meegan, Sylvia, Merrie and Amanda; Doctor Pramote; and the hospice nurses, Allison and Debbie.
Juanita was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. God and her family were her life. Another link to our family chain has been broken.
