Patsy Sue Vinson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Patsy Sue Vinson, 79, of Galatia, passed away at 8:17 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

She was born on July 5, 1929, in Hamburg, just north of Galatia, to James and Edna Jackson, who preceded her in death. Patsy married Vernon Gene Vinson Sr., who preceded her in death on June 20, 1948.

Patsy was the mother of Vernon Gene (Pam) Vinson Jr. of Jasper, Ala., Vince (Deena) Vinson of Galatia and Tracey Vinson, also of Galatia.

Grandchildren include Amy Happe of New Harmony, Ind., Darla (Scott) Graham of Harrisburg, Priscilla (Chris) Stewart of Herrin, Amber (Jared) Childress of Brighton, Andrea Vinson of Johnston City and Annie Vinson of Galatia. One grandson, Vernon Vinson III, preceded her in death.

Patsy had eight great-grandchildren, including Levi Vinson, Alexander and Austin Jackson, Abby Graham, Gabriel Stewart, Maegan Vinson, Lucy Childress and Will Puckett.

Surviving siblings are Pauline Minor of Kalamazoo, Mich., James (Betty) Jackson of Hernando, Miss. and John R. (Kay) Jackson of Galatia.

Patsy enjoyed cooking, crocheting and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galatia.

Services will be held at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Sloan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Tate's Chapel Cemetery, Galatia.
