Michael Waltrip has not had a stellar time since going out on his own as a Cup series team owner three years ago.

He's endured on-track scandal, off-track issues in his personal life, poor overall race performance by his three teams, and most recently was at the center of allegations that his team stole a proprietary piece of racing equipment from another team.
