OBITUARY: Billie Ray Pickering
Billie Ray Pickering, 79 of Harrisburg, passed away 10:15 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at his residence.
He was born in Harrisburg Nov. 27, 1934, to the late Ted Pickering and Mabel Ozee Pickering Lewis. He was married to Peggy Feazel Stockich April 11, 1980, and she survives. Bill was an Air Force Veteran and a retired member of the Ironworkers Union local 103 in Evansville, Ind.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; one son, Carl Pickering; one daughter, Janet (Charles) Carlisle, both of Harrisburg; one stepson, Jim and Shawndie Stockich of Albion; one stepdaughter, Pamela Quinn of Harrisburg; a brother, Joe "Tooter" and June Pickering; a sister, Judy and Jim Parish, all of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren, Nathan Lawrence, B.A. Lawrence, Blane Lawrence, Jason Quinn, Jeff Quinn, Emma (Travis) Lane, Blake Stockich and Chris Stockich; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Carrie Pickering and Aaron Pickering.
Services for Bill Pickering will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. David Pinkerton officiating. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home.
