‘Like a mutt at some great dog show'

Jeffrey Blitz was thrilled to receive an Oscar nomination for his documentary "Spellbound," even though it lost to "Bowling for Columbine." He refers to the incident of going to the Oscar ceremony as cool and weird.

"To be a documentary filmmaker at the Oscars is a little bit like being a mutt at some great dog show," he says. "You're a part of a show, but you feel like an outsider, and you're kind of treated like an outsider."
