Indians' Byrd blanks the Twins

It only makes sense that a pitcher who throws hockey pucks to perfect his curveball delivery would thrive in Minnesota.

Indians right-hander Paul Byrd worked a complete-game four-hit shutout Monday night, leading his team to a 4-0 victory over the Twins. Only one Minnesota batter got as far as second base as Byrd improved to 6-1 with a 2.11 ERA in nine starts at the Metrodome.
