Lanny R. McKinney

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lanny R. McKinney, 59, a resident of New Haven, passed away at his home after an extended illness on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008.

Lanny was born in St. Clair, Mo., on Jan. 14, 1949, to the late Otto and Roberta (Drennen) McKinney.

He was a carpenter by trade working in and around Southern Illinois and Southern Indiana. Lanny was a good person with a heart of gold. He would give you anything he had. He will be greatly missed by the New Haven community.

Lanny leaves behind two sons, Ronnie McKinney of St. Clair, Mo., and Lanny McKinney Jr. of St. Clair, Mo.; two brothers, David McKinney of Union, Mo., and Kirk McKinney of St. Clair, Mo.; a brother, Ronnie McKinney of Bunker Hill; four sisters, Mona Edwards of Dallas, Texas, Judy McCracken of Union, Mo., Maxine Dieden of Sommerville, S.C., and Hazel McKinney of Sommerville, S.C.; and his extended family who cared for him, Jay, Carol and J.J. Krajniak of New Haven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Vicki Lynn McKinney and Joan McKinney, and the love of his life, his companion, Billie Joan Mattingly.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in New Haven.
