Hazel Lands

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Hazel Lands, 103, of Harrisburg, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Saline Care Center.

She was born on April 14, 1905, in Harrisburg to the late John and Etta (Reed) McDermott. On May 17, 1922, she married John Will Lands and he preceded her in death on March 18, 1965.

Hazel was a cook at Pierson/Independence school system and a member of Saline Ridge Baptist Church.

Hazel is survived by one son, Randy Lands and wife Treva of Harrisburg; two daughters-in-law, Larrie Lands and JoAnn Lands; 10 grandchildren, Pamela Sue Johnson and husband Bob of Fairview Heights, Deborah Lands-Hoiffken and husband Edward of Swansea, Avalee Lands, Gary Lands and wife Debbie, Keith Lands and wife Marie, John David Lands, Terry Lands and wife Debbie, Billy Mac Lands, Annette Hubbs and husband Burt, Tammy Storms and husband Brian; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, husband; three sons, George Lowell, Bobby Lee and Billy Mac Lands; brothers and sisters, John Kenneth McDermott, Kelly McDermott, Gertrude McDonald, Louise Carson and Juanita Gott.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Bill Golish will officiate; burial will follow in Saline Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at Reed Funeral Chapel.
