Obituary: Bobby J. Carrigan

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Bobby J. Carrigan, 76, Carrier Mills, passed away at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Western Baptist Hospital, Paducah, Ky.

Bobby was born on Feb. 14, 1935, in Carrier Mills to the late James and Velma (Jenkins) Carrigan. He married Dixie Bush on Jan. 9, 1953, and she survives in Carrier Mills.

Bobby was a retired coal miner and he formerly worked for the Sahara Coal Company. Bobby was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Eldorado Masonic Lodge, the Egyptian Shrine Club and a former member of the Sons of the American Legion.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Dixie of Carrier Mills; son, Jim Carrigan and wife Debbie of Carrier Mills; son, Chris Carrigan and wife Karla of Carrier Mills; half-brother, Bill Lauderdale of Harrisburg; a sister, Virginia King of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Misty Fulkerson and husband Jeremy, Brittany Wix and husband Daniel, Sydney Hollaway and wife Jaime, Courtney Riggs and husband Jason, Bobbi Carrigan and Kane Carrigan; several great-grandchildren, Lexee, Hayden, Ryli, Luke, Ashlyn, Hailey and Liam Patrick; and two special nieces, Terry Clark and Charlene Ferrell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Leroy Hicks will officiate; burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, and Masonic rites will be conducted by the Eldorado Masonic Lodge at 7 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family through the Obituary Page at the Internet site www.reedfuneralchapel.com.
