Obituary: Hattie Imogene Griffiths
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Hattie Imogene Griffiths, 77, Harrisburg, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at her residence in Harrisburg.
Imogene was born on June 6, 1934, in Karber's Ridge to the late Fred and Gertrude (Baldwin) Cox. She married Carl Griffiths on March 12, 1955, and he survives in Harrisburg.
She was a homemaker and a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church and Beta Sigma Phi Alpha Upsilon sorority. Imogene also served as a coordinator for the 4C's food pantry.
In addition to her husband, Imogene is survived by a daughter, Karen Sue Lampley and husband Danny of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Matt Griffiths and wife Missty, Michelle Griffiths, Damon Lampley and wife Toni and Doug Lampley and wife Stephanie; four great-grandchildren, Darren Lampley, Brandon Lampley, Chance Griffiths and Sydney Lampley; a brother, Fred Cox Jr. of Deland, Fla.; a sister, Beatrice Borders of Harrisburg; two stepgrandchildren, Thomas Melton and Maggie Melton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Griffiths; and daughter, Carla Weikart.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Dewayne Taylor will officiate; burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorials may be made to the 4C's, Dorrisville Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
