Thompson Hill Depue Jr., formerly of Du Quoin

Thompson Hill Depue Jr., 67, of Belton, Texas, and formerly of Du Quoin passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Temple, Texas.

Tom had previously been a supervisor at Turco Manufacturing and Cabelec. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Belton, Texas.

Tom was born April 28, 1950, in Springfield to Thompson and Elsie (Smith) Depue Sr.

He married Leanna Rice June 16, 1973, in Du Quoin, and she survives. They had four children.

He is survived by his wife of Belton, Texas; son Cameron (Elizabeth) Depue of Jacksonville, N.C.; son Landon (Andrea) Depue of Temple, Texas; son Garrett (Christina) Depue of Jefferson City, Mo.; mother Elsie Depue of Du Quoin; one brother, George Depue and wife Lynda of Taylorville; five sisters, Sandy Mainwal and husband Victor of Reseda, Calif., Delores Davison and husband Allen of Du Quoin, Helen Schubert of Du Quoin, April Wilson of Monterey, Ind., and Patty Norton and husband Bob of Decatur; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one son, John Depue; his father, Thompson Depue Sr.; and two brothers-in-law, Mike Schubert and Dan Wilson.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman. His love of hunting brought him many hours of enjoyment and

fulfillment. Tom knew life was meant to be filled with family, friends, laughter and kindness. He lived

each day to the fullest and pursued his passions.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with the Rev. Joe Wagner and Tom's family officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Interment will be at Old Du Quoin Cemetery in Du Quoin.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorials to First Baptist Church in Belton, Texas. The address for
