Margaret Jean Kosma of Du Quoin

Margaret Jean Kosma, 88, of Du Quoin passed away at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Margaret had been a homemaker. She had attended Christian Fellowship Church in Du Quoin. Margaret had also been a member of Homemaker's Club and the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary.

She was born March 6, 1929, in Pinckneyville, the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Fisher) Chapman.

She married Joseph Kosma Feb. 26, 1949, in Dowell, and he preceded her in death March 5, 1992.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph Eugene Kosma and wife Beverly of Vergennes and Larry Paul Kosma of Du Quoin; sister-in-law Lillie Chapman of Du Quoin; grandchildren Michael Morgan and wife Jennifer of De Soto, Joseph C. Kosma of Du Quoin, Sasha Kimble and husband Scott of Savannah, Ga., Jolen Kosma of Greensboro, N.C., Dylan Kosma and Patricia Santos of Reno, NV, William Kosma and wife Jennifer of Du Quoin, and Katrina Kosma and Willie Watts of Dowell; and great-grandchildren Logan Morgan, Nolan Morgan, Joseph Morgan, Kallie Kosma, Tyler Peterson and Collin Duncan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Steven Wayne "Butch" Kosma; and one brother, Dale Chapman.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with her grandson, Joseph C. Kosma, officiating.

Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life. They will be accepted at the funeral home.
