OBITUARY: Martin L. Stewart

Martin L. Stewart, 49 of 608 E. Washington St., Carrier Mills, died 6:28 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at Lakeview Cemetery in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held from 9 until 10:30 a.m. Friday at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. The Rev. Ownly Williams will officiate.

He was born on July 6, 1945, in Harrisburg, to the late Morris and Monica (Taborn) Stewart.

He worked for many years at the Golconda Job Corp, and helped coach basketball at Carrier Mills High School. Martin loved all sports and enjoyed teaching the younger kids.

He was a member of the Galilee Baptist Church in Carrier Mills.

He is survived by two sons: Jake (Nicole) Stewart of Harrisburg and Jalen Stewart of Carrier Mills; daughter: McKenzie Stewart of Harrisburg; brother: Marshall Stewart of Owensboro, Ky.; sister: Kathleen (Henri) Lewin of Bollingbrook; three grandchildren: Kinzley Stewart, Kaylex Gibbs and Adalyn Stewart; companion: Sarah McKenzie of Carrier Mills; former wife: Tracy Stewart of Carrier Mills; and several other family members.
