OBITUARY: Muriel Harris

Muriel Harris, 101 of Eldorado, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at her son's residence in Marion.

Muriel was born in Eldorado on July 19, 1913, to the late Frank and Maude (Baker) Buchanan. She was a member of the Buena Vista Community Church in Harrisburg and was past president of the Illinois Prayer Bank Association.

On Sept. 13, 1940, she married Irvan Harris and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1994.

She is survived by her two sons: David (Mary Jane) Harris of Boulder, Colo., and Larry (Marla) Harris of Marion. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Cheryl (Dave) Harris of Manatoo, Colo., Eric (Tally) Harris of Wonder Lake and Mary (Rick) Rogers of Johnston City. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren: Brandon Murray of Rockford and Nathan Murray of Johnston City.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. G.E. Coultas and the Rev. Bobby Parker officiating. Burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation was held 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at the funeral home.
