OBITUARY: Charles H. "Charlie" White

Charles H. "Charlie" White, age 75 of Eldorado, passed away 6:27 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at the Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

He was born in Harrisburg Sept. 15, 1939, son of the late Holly J. White and Virginia (Lottie) Clarida White.

He was married to the former Lora Mae Pearce on Feb. 29, 2012, and she survives.

Charlie was a retired minister serving the Providence Cumberland Presbyterian Church for a number of years and also a retired coal miner working as a mine manager at several Southern Illinois coal mines.

He sang with the Gospel Keys quartet for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Lora Mae White of Eldorado; three daughters, Lynn (John) Burns of Marion, Kim Cattivera of San Mateo, Calif., and JoElla (Roger) Rea of St. Louis; stepdaughter, Stephanie Paris of Carrier Mills; stepson, Jeff (Erin) Dunn of DesPeres, Mo.; grandchildren, Joey (Carrie) Watson, Brandi (Tyler) VanOrmer, Justin Ferrell and Caleb (Samantha) Cattivera; stepgrandchildren, Rachael Paris, Becca Brooks, Nick Paris, Emma Dunn and Anna Dunn; great-grandchildren, Will, Maggie Joe Watson and Vada Cattivera.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a sister Charlotte Ann White.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with Justin Ferrell and the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.

Burial will be in the Brushy Cemetery.

The preferred choice of remembrance would be memorials to CURE P.S.P. in his memory.
