OBITUARY: Barbara Joyce Lowery

Barbara Joyce Lowery, 71, of Chester, passed away at 4:35 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Chester.

She was born to the late James W. and Anna Mae (nee: Read) Thompson on Aug. 26, 1943, in Harrisburg.

She married Benjamin C. Lowery on June 7, 1988, in Paducah, Ky. He survives.

Barbara was a housewife.

She was a member of the Creal Springs Baptist Church in Creal Springs.

She is survived by her husband, Benjamin C. Lowery; three children, Gary Brit (Mary) Rose, James Rae (Angie) Rose, Billy John (Sherry) Rose; four siblings, Diana (Ron) Brown, Priscilla (Richard) Wall, John (Connie) Thompson and Julie (Matt) Agar; seven grandchildren, Ashley Rose, Alicia Rose, Benjamin Rose, Montana Rose, Canada Rose, Alyce Rose and Arizona Rose; three sisters-in-law, Corrinne Thompson, Robbie Upchurch and Phyllis Kay Lowery; one brother-in-law, William A. Lowery; eight nephews; and six nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Tonya Webb; one brother, Darrel Thompson; and one brother-in-law, David Lowery.

It was Barbara's wish to be cremated

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at Creal Springs Baptist Church, Creal Springs, with the Rev. Alan Summers officiating. Interment is at Johnson and Williamson County Line Cemetery in Creal Springs. Memorials may be made to Carmi Baptist Children's Home. Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
