Small town has big Fourth celebration
In the sleepy little river village called Evansville, some of the best fireworks around could be seen. This celebration started about 22 years ago with a few individuals and still today the fireworks are funded solely by donations. The Evansville Fire Department had a lunch stand at the City Park.
On Saturday, the small town was packed with people from everywhere. If you didn't get there early, you wouldn't find a place to park. Some people parked outside of town along the road just to see the display of fireworks.
It is truly an amazing event to see the fireworks on the Kaskaskia River.
