OBITUARY: Laura Elizabeth Gillespie

Laura Elizabeth Gillespie, 94 of Harrisburg, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at Saline Care Center in Harrisburg.

Laura was born on Monday, Dec. 29, 1919, in Harrisburg to the late James and Florence (Stinson) Raley. She married Glenn King Gillespie on March 22, 1958, and he preceded her in death on July 2, 1995.

Laura worked as a bank teller for First National Bank of Harrisburg for many years, and she was a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, James Gillespie of Harrisburg; brother, Charles Raley of Texas; sister, Peggy Prosser and husband H.B., of Katy, Texas; sister, Elaine Shell of Orland Park; and several nieces and nephews.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; and a sister, Donna Tate.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. The Rev. Billy Dye Jr. will officiate. Memorials may be made to McKinley Avenue Baptist Church and envelopes will be available at the cemetery. Friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
