Kenneth E. Lambert
Kenneth E. Lambert, 82, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014 at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Kenneth had been a retired Sergeant First Class in the United States Army and had served for over 20 years on active duty. He had served in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Holts Prairie Baptist Church in Pinckneyville.
He was born Aug. 16, 1932 at Pinckneyville, Ill., the son of Adam and Margaret (Pabst) Lambert.
He married Marcella J. Ogilvie on Nov. 29, 1952 at the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Pinckneyville, two daughters - Linda Sue Floyd and husband Gary of Granbury, Tex. and Judy Malanowski and husband Mark of Tamaroa, one son-in-law - David Harriss of Du Quoin, one sister - Florence Bender of Crestwood, Mo., one brother - Clyde Lambert of Pinckneyville, seven grandchildren - Tina Nickell, Matthew Floyd, Samantha Deutschmann, Jennifer Harriss, Michael Malanowski, Daniel Malanowski and Marcella Malanowski, six great grandchildren - Jessica Nickell, Andrew Nickell, Mason Deutschmann, Steven Weygandt, Nathan Floyd and Ashlee Deutschmann and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter - Margaret Jane Harriss, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014 at the Holts Prairie Baptist Church in Pinckneyville with Rev. Collin Hirsch officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Thursday.
Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery at Swanwick, Ill.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard.
Friends may make memorials to Medical Expenses for Jessica Nickell and will be accepted at the funeral home.
