Carol A. Bowlin

Carol A. Bowlin, 54, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:29 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Carol had been a cook at Du Quoin Middle School for many years. She was an avid Oakland Raiders fan and an excellent cook. She was of the Catholic faith.

She was born Feb. 19, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Clarence and Phyllis (Stanick) Majewski.

She married Vern Bowlin on Oct. 16, 1993 in Du Quoin and he survives.

She is survived by her husband, parents, two daughters, Wendy Freeman and Jill Freeman, both of Du Quoin and two grandchildren, Triston Weis and Tatum Harsy, both of Du Quoin, brothers and sisters-Marilyn Woodside and husband Mike of Tamaroa, Kenneth Majewski of Tamaroa, Michael Majewski and wife Suzanne of Tamaroa, Charlotte Sanders and husband Larry of Du Quoin and Brenda Taylor of Du Quoin and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Fr. Joseph Oganda officiating.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Friends may make memorials to the Immaculate Conception Cemetery or donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
