Bridge replacement to precede fall colors
Work on the replacement of the wooden footbridge at the Paul Emery Park in Harrisburg began last week.
The old wooden footbridge has been removed and workers are preparing to pour the foundation for a new concrete bridge over the lagoon. This work is part of a renovation program made possible by grants to repair, replace and upgrade many of the features of the park.
New lighting along footpaths, new signs and a new restroom facility have been completed or are in progress and the park district expects the work on the new footbridge to be completed in the next few weeks in time to allow park visitors to enjoy the fall colors.
