Prep Golf: Still Rolling
The Eldorado Eagle girls' golf team came away victorious from the West Frankfort 4-ball Tournament held at Franklin County Country Club Thursday afternoon.
The 18-hole event, included three teams from Eldorado, consisting of Taylor Goodley and Keeley Tate; Ashton Goodley and Sydney Tate and Taylor Aldridge and Kileah Lowery.
Taylor Goodley, along with her playing partner Keeley Tate, bounced back from a 42 Wednesday and finished with a 69 (38-31) to take first place overall. Goodley's round included two eagles, one birdie and a bogey and set a new school record for an 18-hole event.
The team of Ashton Goodley and Sydney Tate fired a 74 (38-36), while Aldridge and Lowery carded a 90.
Eldorado finished as a team with a 143, nearly 10 shots clear of second place, held by Massac County, who finished with a 153. Herrin came in third with a 155, while West Frankfort finished with a 193 and Carbondale came in fifth with a 194.
Eldorado is off until Monday when they will travel to Carterville for a 4 p.m. match at Crab Orchard Golf Course.
