OBITUARY: Theresa Louise Scherrer

Theresa Louise Scherrer, 93 of Shawneetown, passed away 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado.

She was born on March 5, 1921, in Shawneetown, the daughter of Bill and Laura (Williams) Deitz. She married William F. "Bill" Scherrer on Oct. 12, 1940, who preceded her in death on April 21, 2012. Louise was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shawneetown.

She is survived by her daughter, Margie Clayton and one son, Billy and Chris Scherrer, all of Shawneetown; one sister, Norma Jean and George Patton, also of Shawneetown; six grandchildren, Tony Scherrer, Lee Scherrer, Scott Scherrer, Eric Scherrer, Gary Clayton, and Mindy Calloway; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Betty Louise Scherrer; one brother, Bill Deitz Jr.; and one granddaughter, Deanann L. Clayton. Visitation for Louise will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, with prayer service 6 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at the St. Kateri Catholic Church - St. Mary's with Father Steven Beatty officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery near Ridgway. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shawneetown Beautification Committee. Memorial cards are available at the funeral home or by mail to the address, P.O.
