First responders to receive complimentary dinners from Elks Club Saturday

In deep appreciation for your service, the Du Quoin Elks Club will host a public service night this Saturday, Aug. 16. First responders from anywhere in the Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Tamaroa and Elkville area will receive a complimentary fish dinner.

That includes all paid or volunteer emergency personnel: state, county and local police officers, firefighters, EMTs and emergency services personnel. Other family members and lodge members will be asked to pay $9.

The dinners will be served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Elks Lodge located on Shagbark Road just off Rt. 51 north of Du Quoin just behind radio station WDQN

"All public servants will be served for free even if we have to deliver the meals to you because you are on shift and cannot get to the lodge," said Craig Smith, exalted ruler.

To arrange for a delivery, please call the lodge at 542-2130 before Saturday.
