OBITUARY: Richard B. Ozment

Richard B. Ozment, 80 of Carbondale and a former Carrier Mills resident, passed away Tuesday morning at 2:15 a.m. in the Century Assisted Living.

Richard was born in Harrisburg on Jan. 16, 1933, to the late Robert "Bob" and Vivian Bainbridge Ozment. He was married to the former Elzada "Zada" Miller on Aug. 25, 1956, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 29, 2009. He was a Mason, a Shriner and member of the Anna VFW. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carrier Mills. Richard was a United States Navy veteran. He retired from the Choate Mental Health Center in Anna as a chief of security.

Richard leaves his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jim Kohl of Cobden; and a grandson, Matthew Kohl and his friend Christina.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his son, Richard "Rick" Ozment.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Carrier Mills, with the Rev. Stan Irvin officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery with full military rites by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legions and the Reserves Ritual Team. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Passages Hospice in his memory. Envelopes will be available at the church.
