OBITUARY: Eugene Ferrell

Eugene Ferrell, 85, Harrisburg passed away Friday Oct. 4, 2013, at his residence.

He was born June 19, 1928, in Carrier Mills, the son of the late Guy and Opal Swan Ferrell. He married Ruth Keith on March 10, 1950, and she survives. Gene was a retired coal miner.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; eight sons, Bill (Faye) Ferrell, Benny (Deanna) Ferrell, Jack (Kathy) Ferrell, Terry (Cathy) Ferrell, Rick Ferrell, Michael Lee (Stephanie) Ferrell, all of Harrisburg, Gary (Deanna) Ferrell, Gainesville, Texas, and Michael Ray Ferrell of Chatanoga, Tenn.; one daughter, Dinah (Gary) May, Harrisburg; one brother Jerry (Pat) Ferrell, Scott City, Mo.; 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul Ferrell and one sister, Barbara Brasher.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Bernie Cowgill officiating and burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
