OBITUARY: James Bennett Barnett

James Bennett Barnett, 72, Houma, La., died 9:19 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, in Houma.

He was born in Huntsville, Ala., July 5, 1941.

Memorial service is 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, Houma.

He is survived by one son, James Clifton Barnett; three daughters, Helen Marie (Daniel) Daigle, Wanda Fanning and Bobbie Jean ("Dickie') Jones; one brother, Randy Hugh Bernett; two sisters, Janie (Billy) Moore and Jo Ann Badrnett; six grandchildren, Tina Dawn Stanley, Jason Jerome (Candice) Jones, Brandy Nicole(Jonathan McClendon) Romine, Richelle "Shelley" Marie (Matthew) Malinarolo, Daniel Felix Daigle III, John Clint Jones, Andrea Michelle "Sissie" Daigle; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Barnett; his parents, William Allen (surviving wife Cathy "Sam") Barnett, Johnny Maxwell (surviving wife Kathy) Barnett, Kenneth "Buddy" (deceased wife Betty) Barnett; one sister, Brenda Joyce (surviving husband "RC") Holmes. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Samart Funeral Home, Houma, La.
