Kathy Favreau Evans

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Kathy Favreau Evans, 55, Harrisburg, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

She was born on Dec. 1, 1954, in Harrisburg to the late Robert Favreau and Helen J. Law, who survives. In 1980, she married Tom Evans, and he preceded her in death in 2007.

Kathy was the First Judicial Circuit Court Probation District supervisor. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harrisburg. Kathy enjoyed gardening, she loved the Ohio River, boating and skiing, she had many good times with her boating friends. She was a gourmet cook. She owned and operated Smugglers Restaurant in Harrisburg for many years.

Surviving family members include her son, Max (Brooke) Evans of Marion; mother, Helen Favreau of Harrisburg; brother, Danny (Ruth) Favreau of St. Louis, Mo.; granddaughter, Ava Kaylee Evans of Marion; niece, Angie Barnett and son Josh of Sweet Water, Texas; two nephews, Matt (Marissa) Favreau of Cleveland, Texas and Brian Favreau and Angela Patton and daughter Genet of Evansville, Ind.; cousin, Doug (Barbie) Brown and daughter Addison of Evansville, Ind.; and brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Barbara Miller of Metropolis. Her dogs, Gita and Van Courier, will miss Kathy.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg. The Rev. Judith Beyler will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to service time Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Presbyterian Church of Harrisburg. Envelopes will be available at the church.
