OBITUARY: James W. Barger

James W. Barger, age 66 of Humm Wye, passed away on Aug. 28, 2013, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky.

He was born Aug. 20, 1947, in Delwood to Glen and Ruby (Bailey) Barger. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Known as the "Mailman," he was a retired rural letter carrier from the United States Postal Service. He had worked out of Carrier Mills and Elizabethtown Post Offices. He was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers' Association and always looked forward to the national conventions.

James is survived by his sister, Donna Irwin of Harrisburg; two brothers, Raymond (Dianna) Barger of Delwood, Jack (Vickie) Barger of Tunnel Hill; brother-in-law, David Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sue Oakley, Sandra Allen; and brother-in-law, Jack Irwin.

Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Delwood. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
