Edna "Gail" Jackson

HARRISBURG - Edna "Gail" Jackson, 91, formerly of Harrisburg, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at home. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her family.

She was born Feb. 11, 1925, in Harrisburg to Edna and Edmund Thomas, the youngest of seven children, now all deceased. She was a graduate of Harrisburg High School class of 1943 and proudly served as a letter girl.

Gail married James "Jim" Jackson on Christmas Day in 1945. They moved to Pontiac, Michigan in 1957.

She worked for Pontiac school system until retiring in 1990.

Gail loved hosting all of the family birthdays and holidays, but she particularly loved Christmas, surrounded by all of her kids and grandkids.

Survivors include her daughters, Janet Hopkins, Linda Gray and Jill (Floyd) Cheff; sons, Jon (Diane) Jackson and Rick (Kathy) Jackson; grandchildren, Becky Ervin, Steve (Lisa) Ervin, Justin (Sarah) Ervin, Joshua Hopkins, David Gray, Michael (Rebecca) Gray, Erin (Tom) Wolford, Samantha Montgomery, Jenna Jackson, Tanner Jackson and Jason Mucha; and four great-grandchildren, Emily, Thomas, Leah and Grayson with two on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim.

Services will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 12, in Huntoon Funeral Home in Pontiac, Michigan.
