Sylvia M. Kimbro, 93, Harrisburg

Sylvia M. Kimbro, age 93, of Harrisburg, passed away at 2:17 PM, Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Sylvia was born on April 1, 1922 in Gallatin County to the late Ed Patton and Mary (Hull) Patton. She married Paul Kimbro and he preceded her in death on March 3, 1978. She was a homemaker and former member of the Dorris Heights Methodist Church. She was active in the Harrisburg Golden Circle.

Surviving family members include her daughter: Paula (Danny) Goolsby of Harrisburg; son: Steve Kimbro of Murphysboro; grandchildren: Tracy (Dan) Colvis of Chester, IL, Jennifer (Aaron) Wilson of Ava, IL, Dana Shepard of Murphysboro, Christi (Rob) Koester of Swansea, IL, and Patton (Whitney) Segraves of Millstadt, IL; great-grandchildren: Logan and Karson Colvis, Kaden and Kanon Wilson, Trenton Shepard, Alex and Abby Koester, Sylvi, Jorja, and Tilly Segraves.

Funeral services for Sylvia Kimbro will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Ron Reed will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 PM, Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. For those who wish, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Carrier Mills Nursing Home Activity Fund or the Harrisburg Golden Circle. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
