Former Du Quoin clerk lands IDOT job

The Illinois Department of Transportation in an inner-departmental memorandum over the weekend announced the appointment of Brad Myers, former Du Quoin City Clerk, to the position of TMV, personal manager for the District 9 Bureau of Administration. Myers began his work at IDOT on Monday.

Myers served under Du Quoin Mayor Rex Duncan after the death of City Clerk Blaine Bastien and his termination was part of Mayor Guy Alongi's pre-election forward-thinking position statement.

He held the position for two and half years.

Prior to that, Brad was with Five Rivers Services, LLC, a government contractor in Colorado, from 2009-2012, where he was Program Manager and Director of Operations. He was also a Program Manager for ITT Corporation, a defense contractor in Colorado, for over three years. Mr. Myers served in the US Air Force for 26 years prior to his civilian career. He has associate degrees in Electronics, Instructional Technology & Military Science, and Aircraft Armament Systems, all from the Community College of the Air Force. He has a bachelor's degree in Management/Computer Information Systems from Park University in Missouri.

According to a written memo from Jason Taylor at IDOT, "He has over 30 years of management experience with 10 years of that experience being in human resources. "In his new position, Bradley will be accountable for managing the district section which performs work governed by complex personnel policies/procedures, various laws/regulations involving recruitment, hiring, non-unionized, professional and paraprofessional employees. He will also oversee workman compensation and the safety and claims department." The comptroller's office says his compensation is not yet in their database.
