Wilma Jackson Meridith
Wilma Jackson Meridith, age 90 of Harrisburg, passed away at 2:30 AM, Thursday, January 7, 2016, at the home of her son in Eddyville.
Wilma was born on August 7, 1925, in Eddyville, Illinois to R.A. Langford and Nettie (Cagle) Langford. She married John Jackson in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1980. She married Russell Meridith in 1990 and he preceded her in death in 1996. She was the last member of Boulden Church.
Wilma is survived by four sons, Jerry Jackson and wife Billie of Oklahoma, Murray Jackson and wife Phyllis of Harrisburg, Rip Jackson and wife Thelma of Eddyville, and Steven Jackson and wife Brenda of Harrisburg; thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, R.A. and Nettie Langford, both husbands, John and Russell, nine brothers and sisters, and a step son, Herbert Nance.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Boulden Church in Eddyville. Rev. Leroy Hicks and Rev. Jerry Wells will officiate. Burial will follow in Boulden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM, Friday, January 8, 2016 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Boulden Cemetery Fund.
