Beatrice Frances Harris, 95, Carrier Mills

Beatrice Frances Harris, age 95, resident of Carrier Mills , passed away peacefully with family at her side on Monday-December 28, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at her residence.

Beatrice was born on February 10, 1920 in Whitesboro, TX to the late Fred Simpson and Lola Frances (Clark) Simpson.

She married Harold E. Harris on January 7, 1942 and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2013

She was a retired manager for Welek Fabrics and Singer Sewing in the St Louis area.

Beatrice attended the First United Methodist Church in Carrier Mills and also enjoyed going to the Golden Circle in Harrisburg. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, dining out (especially KFC), and traveling.

She is survived by daughters; Beverly Ham of Granite City, and Deborah McVey of Carrier Mills. Grandchildren; Kim (Nick) Dochwat, Tim (Debbie) Seebold, Shane (Stacey) Deaton, Erinn (Michael) Cope, Kyle (Ashley Bridges) McVey, Christian (Kaci Stricklin) McVey.

(7) great-grandchildren and (2) great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother; Paul Simpson, sister; Maxine Roberts, and sons-in-laws; Ralph David Ham and Robyn McVey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday-January 2, 2016 at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Rev Stan Irvin will officiate. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to the service time at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the preferred choice of remembrance would be memorials in her memory to the Cub Scout Pack #7017 or the Golden Circle Center in Harrisburg. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
