Bobbie J. (Bob) Turner, 84, Harrisburg

Bobbie J. (Bob) Turner 84 of Harrisburg passed away 12:53 AM Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. He was born September 24, 1931 in Rural Williamson County, the son of Gus and Nellie Mifflin Turner. He married Carolyn Hayes August 11, 1961 and she survives. Bob was a Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in Electronic Engineering and worked for over 30 years for GTE as an engineer.

Surviving are his wife Carolyn and 3 brothers, Lee & Shirley Turner of Marion, Bill and Shirley Turner of Harrisburg and Steve and Winona Turner of Carrier Mills along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister and her husband, Mildred and John R. Gates.

Graveside services will precede burial at 1:00 PM Monday, December 28, 2015 with the Rev. Ron Williams officiating. Visitation will be after 11 AM Monday at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg. The family has asked that all flowers and plants be omitted and memorials made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
