Tyler Smithpeters - SIU
Smithpeters went 1-for-4 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free throw line as Southern pulled out a 88-73 win over Murray State Friday.
Smithpeters played 31 minutes against the Racers and was 1-of-2 from beyond the arc. He pulled down the three defensive rebounds and had two steals to go along with one assist and one turnover.
In 12 games this season, the former Harrisburg all-star and current Saluki junior is shooting 43 percent from the field (25-for-58) and 50 percent from 3-point range (21-42), while going 21-of-25 from the free throw line for 84 percent. He has 28 total rebounds, 25 of which come on defense with 24 assists, 20 turnovers and 11 steals.
Capel Henshaw - Lewis University
Henshaw has appeared in nine games for Lewis University this season, where despite not starting any games, is averaging 25 minutes and is shooting 44 percent from the field on 28-of-63, while going 23-for-51 from beyond the arc for 45 percent and going 8-for-9 from the free throw line for 89 percent.
The former Harrisburg standout is averaging 9.7 points per game with 87 total points and has nine assists to go with seven turnovers and three steals.
Will Carmickle - Morthland College
Carmickle had nine points in Morthland's 40-34 win over Brescia late last week.
The EHS graduate was 4-for-7 from the field and 1-for-1 from beyond the arc, while going 2-4 from the free throw line with 9 rebounds and two assists.
Carmickle has only played in four games because of an injury, both has 70 total rebounds in those appearances, which currently has him sitting fourth in the nation in the NCCAA rankings.
Andrew Drone - Rice
In 11 games for Rice University, Drone is averaging 18.5 minutes and 7.3 points per game for the Owls.
The former Gallatin County standout is shooting 57 percent from the field (100-for-279) and has made 16-of-24 free throws for 60 percent. He has 36 rebounds, eight blocks, eight turnovers, five assists and four steals.
