Prep Hoops: Massac Co. grabs No. 1 seed, Harrisburg No. 4 & Eldorado No. 6
Eldorado athletic director Greg Goodley gets a pretty good gauge on how well received the Eldorado Holiday Tournament will be based on ticket sells.
When tickets for the 570 chair seat for Duff-Kingston Gymnasium went on sell Monday, there weren't many left by Tuesday.
On Wednesday, they were almost sold out.
That message was heard loud and clear by Goodley, who was joined by fellow coaches and school administrations at the EHT seed meeting.
Massac County, as voted by the coaches and administrators, garnered the No. 1 seed for the 51st playing of the EHT.
That was followed by newcomer and one-year participant Webster County, Ky., at No.2 and Harrisburg at No. 3.
Carmi-White County grabbed the No. 4 spot, followed by Meridian at No. 5 and Eldorado at No. 6.
The final two spots went to Fairfield (7) and Anna-Jonesboro (8) to round out the field.
The last time the Patriots had the No. 1 seed was in 2008. Massac County knocked off Carrier Mills-Stonefort 59-47 in the championship game and later finished second in the 2A IHSA State Tournament.
Play gets underway next Saturday at EHS.
