Erin Eggemeyer enjoying role as fifth grade resource teacher
Erin Eggemeyer joined the Chester Grade School staff this year as a fifth grade resource teacher.
Eggemeyer is a longtime resident of Chester, where she began her educational career at St. Mary's Catholic School.
She transferred to Chester Grade School in the fifth grade and graduated from CGS in 2005.
Following grade school, Eggemeyer attended Chester High School where she earned her high school diploma in 2009.
Upon graduation from CHS, she began her pursuit of a college degree. Eggemeyer completed a bachelor's degree in Special Education at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale in December 2014.
This fall, Eggemeyer began her first teaching assignment at Chester Grade School.
"I am very happy to be here at CGS this year and I am excited about the possibilities," said Eggemeyer, when asked if she had any specific goals for her new assignment. "Right now, I am very busy just getting my feet on the ground and it will take me a while to learn my new job as resource teacher.
"I am glad to be here and really enjoy working with the students here at CGS."
Erin is the daughter of Mitch and Nancy Eggemeyer, of Chester. In her spare time, Erin enjoys reading and spending time with her pet dog, Emmy.
"Overall, I have really enjoyed my first months here at Chester Grade School," Erin Eggemeyer said. "The staff has been so welcoming and it is very neat to be a teacher here in the district where I was once a student."
