Esther Owens, 94, Waterford, Michigan

Esther Owens, age 94, of Waterford, Michigan and a former resident of Carrier Mills passed away on Saturday November 21, 2015 in the Heather Pines Adult Care in Clarkston, Michigan. Esther moved to Michigan in 2008 to live with her great nieice Diane Corbett Bratcher. Esther was born on January 1, 1921 in Carrier Mills to the late Walter and Ada Sherfield Milburn. She was married to Willard Owens and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1982. She attended the Main Street Church of God while she lived in Carrier Mills.

She is survived by her Great niece; Diane Bratcher of Waterford, Michigan; great nephew Tony Corbett of Waterford Michigan; Step Children: Kenneth Owens of Versailles, Kentucky, Boyd Owens of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Kay Spencer of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Serveral great great nieces and nephews.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Gertie Hamilton, a niece Christine Corbett, a great nephew Bobby Corbett Jr, and a step son Willard (Butch) Owens.

Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday November 24, 2015 in the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Rev. Fred Ping will officiate with burial in Salem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9am on Tuesday.
