Harrisburg Police make arrest for fraud
A Harrisburg man was arrested on felony charges of financial exploitation of an elderly person/persons with a disability, and four counts of forgery.
Harrisburg police say they arrested Daniel J. Moutria, 52, of S. Webster Street, after a warrant had been issued for him by the Madison County state's attorney's office.
Moutria was wanted after a Granite City resident contacted the authorities with concerns regarding forgeries. Authorities determined that a family member had been forging checks and stealing money from the victims' checking and savings accounts. The investigators named Moutria as their suspect over the course of the probe.
Moutria was taken into custody and is being held at the Saline County Jail, pending an $80,000 bond or extradition proceedings.
