Prep Volleyball: One Down, One To Go

The Harrisburg High School volleyball team took one step closer to winning a regional title as they knocked off Massac County in three sets Tuesday night at Davenport Gymnasium.

Middles Bryleigh Buchanan had 11 kills and six blocks, while Matty Hawkins had eight kills and three blocks getting things done at the net for Harrisburg head coach Heather Cox.

Helping with those kills were Lilee Robinson (seven assists) and Jessica Schwartz (13 assists), while libero Devin Butler played big, getting 33 digs.

"Seniors Hannah Bartok and Ally Langley stepped up tonight and led on the floor," Cox said. "Junior Toni Crisp subbed into the match and made some big plays. It was a huge win and a team effort without a doubt. We've struggled all season with finishing games. (Tuesday) when it was win or go home, we got the job done and live to play another day."
