OBITUARY: Hazel Alexander

Hazel Alexander, 66, of 1750 Old Town Road, Stonefort, died 1:15 a.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bolton-Trammel Cemetery in Stonefort. The Rev. Ron Ferguson will officiate.

She was born on April 14, 1947, in Myra, W. Va., to the late Watman and Sallie (Sperry) Adkins.

She married John A. Alexander on Dec. 10, 1966, and he survives.

She attended Walnut Grove Baptist Church near Stonefort.

She is survived by her husband: John A. Alexander of Stonefort; two daughters: Dawn M. Hanson and life partner: Jimmy Smith of West Hamlin, W. Va., and Lorie (Eric) Childers of West Frankfort; four grandchildren: Cassandra A. Alexander, James Hanson III, Kaitlynn Childers and Karissa Childers; two great-grandchildren, Ayla Chojnacki and Evan Chojnacki; three sisters: Ozell (Wallace) Burton and Brenda (Tim) Coll, all of W. Va., and Doris (Johnny) Rayborn of Tinley Park; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers- and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Watman and Sallie Adkins; in-laws: Luke and Frances Alexander; sister: Lola Adkins; and brother: Darrell Adkins.
