Edgar “Poppy” Price

Edgar "Poppy" Price, 89, of Harrisburg passed away at 12:22 AM, Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Saline Care Center.

Edgar was born on October 4, 1926 in Muddy to the late Gratton and Mabel (Hathaway) Price. On October 4, 1947 he married Leatta Mae Mitchell and she preceded him in death on September 25, 2014. Edgar was a 50 year member of the Harrisburg Masonic Lodge #325. He was an Army veteran and was a member of the Harrisburg American Legion.

Surviving family members include his son: Greg (Donna) Price of Harrisburg; daughter: Sherry (Roy) Russell of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren: Leslie (Dawan) Rightnowar of Harrisburg, Kim (Kendall) Hankins of Galatia, Jamie Price and fiancé Jimmy Humphrey of Herrin, Brian (Jennifer) Price of Harrisburg; Brad (Cassidy) Russell of Harrisburg, Teresa (Ryan) Hughes of Harrisburg and Danielle (Michael) Oestreich of Harrisburg; fourteen great-grandchildren: Dalton Rightnowar, Adam Brothers, Cody Rightnowar, Lexi Howard, A.J. Hankins, MacKenzi Rightnowar, Eli Hankins, Kylie Price, Adriana Humphrey, Ava Hughes, Makaya Price, Brendan Russell, Jensen Hughes and Mason Russell; sister: Betty Hickey of Crown Point, IN; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Brenice Devar, JoAnn Hewitt, Hannah Rockwell and one brother: Jim Price.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 9, 2015 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Kendall Hankins will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 11 AM, Friday, October 9, 2015 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
