Indian Pride Weekend October 10 & 11

The Indian Pride Weekend has been developed to provide a number of events to raise funds for the District #300 Educational Foundation and District #300 Athletic program. This joint effort brings together the academic and extra-curricular facets of our school district to raise funds for two important components of our student's education. These two aspects which are strong components in our school district have been detrimentally impacted due to state budget cuts and the subsequent reduction of funding by the state for K-12 education. Funds raised for the Foundation would be used for classroom and grade level grants, field trips, and student scholarships. Funds raised for the athletic program would be used to purchase supplies, purchase equipment, and provide transportation to all athletic events. We feel the Indian Pride Weekend fundraiser can have a tremendous impact on providing funds for these programs, continue to build on our strong academic and athletic traditions, enhance community involvement, and provide school stakeholder participation opportunities that benefit our students.

The Indian Pride Weekend event will take place on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, 2015. The event will consist of the following activities:

<span style="text-decoration: underline;">Saturday, October 10</span>

-Dinner/Dance/Auction Event at the DuQuoin State Fairground Grandstand beginning at 6:00 p.m. The dinner-dance-auction will provide a casual opportunity for all community members to come together to support academics and athletics. Several valuable auction items have been donated to support this great event. Come enjoy great food and dancing, all we ask is that you wear your Red and Black to show your support. Tickets are $20 per person and may be purchased from any school office, the district office, or at the door the evening of the event. If you wish to donate items for the silent auction contact Sandy Stanhouse at the elementary school (542-2646, ext. 1011).

<span style="text-decoration: underline;">Sunday, October 11</span>

-Athletic Association Golf Scramble at Red Hawk Country Club beginning at 1:00 p.m. Each of the athletic teams in the district are seeking a team and 2 hole sponsors for this event. The cost per person is $75 or $300 for a team. Hole sponsorships are $100. Help each athletic team by becoming a team or hole sponsor. All proceeds will go toward the district athletic budget. <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Friday, October 16</span>

-BBQ Chicken Dinner from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. prior to the DHS Football Game vs. Nashville. Tickets cost $7.00 per person and are being sold by each fall sport athlete at the high school and middle school levels. Tickets are also available through each school office or the district office.
