CHS FROSH: Yellow Jackets fall to Valle Catholic

Drake Bollman ran for 213 yards and three touchdowns, but the Chester High School freshman football team fell behind 21-0 in a 62-27 non-conference loss to Valle Catholic on Thursday.

A week after becoming just the third freshman to run for more than 200 yards in a game in modern CHS history, Bollman became the first to do it in back-to-back weeks.

Bollman had touchdown runs of 48, 35 and 62 yards for the Yellow Jackets (2-2, 2-0 Black Diamond Conference), who trailed 27-7 at halftime.

Missing its leading tackler and emotional leader in Eathan Thompson (sick) and with Hunter Munie also battling an illness, Chester got 23 yards and a touchdown from Quintin McManus on five carries, while Tristin Hobeck ran for 43 yards on 10 carries.

Defensively, Bollman led the way again for Chester with 13 tackles (seven solo), while Nick Meyer had seven and Chase Colvis had six. Dalton Favier and Hobeck each contributed five.

The freshmen Yellow Jackets take a week off for Homecoming before returning to BDC play against Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton on Oct. 8 at W.O. Smith Field.

Kickoff against the Bearcats is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
