DHS homecoming week begins

The Du Quoin High School's celebration of homecoming week began Sunday with students painting storefront windows throughout downtown Du Quoin.

There was also an all school scavenger hunt Sunday night.

The theme of this year's annual homecoming parade on Thursday is your favorite Walt Disney movies.

Homecoming will be celebrated today with "Class Color Day." Freshmen are greet. Sophomores are white. Juniors are red and seniors are black.

Tuesday will be "twin day." Wednesday will be "Dress as your Character" Day. Thursday will be "Throwback Thursday" Dress Day and Friday will be "Red and Black" Day.

Friday's schedule includes the annual homecoming game weith Du Quoin hospitng Pinckneyville. The games starts at 7 p.m. with the homecoming king and queen to be announced following the game. Completre details will appear in this week's Magnavox.

The homecoming dance will be held Saturday in the girls' gym.

Also this week the volleyball team will be selling shirts for the Oct. 13 Pink Out game vs. Anna Jonesboro. Shirts are $12 and proceeds benefit Stacey Kroeger Kirchner, a local woman battling breast cancer.
