VOLLEYBALL: Lady Falcons dominate at Dongola
The Lady Falcons picked up their second conference win of 2015 on Tuesday night, dominating Dongola in straight sets 25-11, 25-7. Twenty of Elverado's 50 points came from serves by Emma Bigham, who also led the team in digs with three.
"Emma did a great job behind the service line, serving 14 times straight the second game to give us a big lead," said EHS head volleyball coach Donette Wheatley. "We played as a team tonight - we made it look easy. Those hard losses paid off tonight."
Ellie Winthrop and Tori Ehlers both had five kills, Jessica Elson had three. Bigham and Maycee Bowlin shared the team lead in assists with four. Ehlers also chipped in four service aces.
The Lady Falcons also won the junior varsity match in straight sets, 25-14, 25-11. Elson had six kills to lead the way. Hope Porter and Melissa Sarensen each had five assists, and Porter also finished with five aces.
