Prep Volleyball: Eagles split at NCOE

The Eldorado High School volleyball team concluded its stay at the NCOE Invitational late last week by going 1-1 with a win over Hamilton County and falling to Carmi-White County.

In the win against Hamilton County, Eldorado won in straight sets, going 25-23 and 25-23.

Abby Steed, who made the All-Tournament Team for Eldorado, was 8-for-8 on sets and 21-for-24 on spikes with six kills. Steed also went 4-for-4 from the service line with four points, three blocks, one kill and 15 digs.

Mary Mitchell was 6-for-6 on sets with 15 spikes and one kill. She went 9-for-10 at the line with nine points and 22 digs.

Rachel Durham was 23-for-27 on sets with a pair of spikes, while going 3-for-4 at the service line with five points, one ace and 10 digs.

Brooklynn Peavler was 3-for-3 on sets and 14-for-15 on spikes with six kills. She finished 7-for-8 on serves with nine points and one ace and Lexi Clore was 3-for-3 on sets with five spikes, seven points and 17 digs.

Other statistics included, Kaitlyn McGuire finishing with eight digs and Jordan McGuire with four digs. Madison Newton was 11-for-13 on sets and had four points, one ace and four digs, while April Summers was 2-for-2 on sets, 3-for-3 on spikes, one kill, eight points, two aces and four digs.

Against Carmi-White County, Eldorado fell in straight sets, falling 25-17 and 25-21.

Mitchell finished with eight points, while Durham had six points and Peavler finished with five points, including 19 digs.

Steed, who also finished with five points, had nine digs and was 2-for-4 on blocks, while finishing 4-for-5 on sets.

Clore was 2-for-2 on spikes with one kill and 13 digs. Kaitlyn McGuire had three digs and Jordan McGuire was 3-for-3 on sets with five digs.

Newton was 7-for-7 on sets and was five-for-five on spikes with three serves, three points and one dig. Summers went 3-for-4 on serves with four points.
