Middle School Softball: EMS evens record to 1-1 after Carrier Mills win
The Eldorado Middle School softball team fell in its season opener, losing to Massac County 2-1 Saturday.
EMS had just four hits on the day as Emma Wargel paced the Eagle softball team with two hits.
Erica Hopkins had the lone RBI, finishing with one hit, while Trinity Goolsby scored a run and had a hit as well.
Warble took the loss in the circle for EMS, working six innings and allowing five hits and two earned run, while striking out nine and walking three.
The Eagles righted the ship Monday, evening their record to 1-1 with an 11-1 win over Carrier Mills.
Warble picked up the win, as she improved to 1-1 as well, working four innings, allowing one earned run on one hit, while striking out 10.
Trinity Goolsby worked the a scoreless fifth inning, striking out three and walking one.
At the plate, Eldorado cranked out seven hits as Lexie Mitchell and Wargel each had two. Mitchell finished with a pair of RBI and scored a run, while Cydney Van Zant, Paige Munds and Goolsby all had one.
Emilee Sigler, Goolsby and Wargel each had an RBI on the day, while Piper Debose, Alexa Haenel, Kitana Rees, Racquel Prather, Kynzie Sizemore, Goolsby, Mitchell and Wargel all scored a run. Minds finished with two runs scored on the day.
EMS returns to action today (Tuesday) at Marion. The Eagles close out the week with an away game at Pope County.
