Helen (Couch) Collins

<pre class="aLF-aPX-K0-aPE aLF-aPX-aLK-ayr-auR">Helen (Couch) Collins, 96, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015, at Deaconess Hospital.

Helen was born on September 12, 1918 in Sturgis, KY, moved to Harrisburg, IL in the 1950s, and then to Evansville, IN in the late 1960's. She was a member of First Christian Church in Evansville where she belonged to the Ester Circle and was active in Keenagers. She also enjoyed her time at SWIRCA over the years. She enjoyed knitting, making ceramics, and various other crafts. She loved gifting them to her friends and family. Holidays were very important to her as she loved cooking for her family.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clifton Collins; parents, William Curtis and Eliza (Speed) Couch; and her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children; Mary Lou (Gary) Aldridge of Crystal Lake, IL, Nelson Collins of Beecher, IL, Steve (Diane) Collins of Flagstaff, AZ, Barbara (David) Klamer of Evansville, IN, Bill (Lokey) Collins of Jackson, WY and Kevin (Susan) Collins of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren, Jeff, Greg, Tammy, Tiffany, Kelly, Scott, Craig, Sarah and Gabe; great-grandchildren, Kailey, Cal, Ryan, Conner, Abby, Ashlyn, Addison, Brady, Peyton, Alex, Mackenzie and Tyler; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, August 10, 2015, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Mitch Stichler, with burial in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis, KY. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and Monday from 9:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
